Introducing… Hudson Taylor

Share:

Hudson Taylor- a duo made up of brothers Alfie and Harry, from Dublin, Ireland. They play folk-rock/pop that’s rich in harmonies and has become hugely popular within the industry and with music listeners. Taking inspiration from their idols Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel and The Beatles, they have built up their sound over a number of years, starting from busking whilst they were young. Their debut album title ‘Singing For Strangers’ was a nod to their initial days as performing musicians. Busking enabled them to have a special connection to any crowd they perform to and to make every performance their best.

They have already overcome every musician’s nightmare of the power going out halfway through the gig, not once, but twice. Each time, Hudson Taylor have picked up their instruments, got into the crowd and carried on with the show.

It’s events like this which is one of the reasons why Hudson Taylor have gained so much Irish and UK coverage this past year. They received a glowing review from the Eastern Daily Press after their main-stage performance at Latitude 2018- ‘Their harmonies blended effortlessly, entwining with one another to create a sound that was almost dreamlike’- and Ellipsis Liverpool gave their E.P ‘Feel It Again’ an insane amount of praise, hooking you in to this brother duo.

Hudson Taylor will always have the love and backing of their home country behind them. RTÉ 2FM named ‘One In A Million’ their Track of the Day on 17th September- a hugely irresistible track, starting off gently acoustic before building up and exploding into a full ensemble at the end. They supported George Ezra at his Belfast show back in August and will also play 5 nights at Whelans in Dublin this December.

Their acoustic version of ‘Old Soul’ has over 2.3 million plays on Spotify, with ‘Run With Me’ at nearly 2 million plays. They are getting over 702,000 monthly listeners, and their popularity won’t be stopping there any time soon.
Working with label Rubyworks, Hudson Taylor have just put out a new mini-album ‘Bear Creek To Dame Street’. An 8-track collection of new and old music, as well as live tracks- something the band has never done before.

These live tracks will give you a first-hand taste of what to expect from the duo at one of their upcoming shows this November. Hudson Taylor will be performing a number of shows in the UK, with support from singer-songwriter Orla Gartland.
