Alice Merton
Singer-songwriter Alice Merton’s inspiration derives from her nomadic lifestyle and penchant to find the true sense of feeling at home. Alice first moved from Canada to Germany at 16 and has since moved 11 times between cities, including Mannheim, Germany where she studied popular music at Popakademie. Her desire to feel at home encouraged her to write her first song and ode to homesickness, ‘Little Lighthouse’. The Canadian-English starlet continued to develop the theme of homesickness within her song writing and wrote ‘No Roots’ – which reached number 2 on Spotify’s Viral 50 Charts in 2016. The success of the single lead Alice to set up her own record label, Paper Planes Records with her manager Paul Grauwinkel on which she released the EP No Roots early 2017. The emerging artists also earnt herself a place on Billboard’s 10 Rock & Alternative Artists to Watch in 2018 and is playing her only UK tour date on 6th March. Grab your tickets here!
