I first heard of King No-One when they performed as support for a small Manchester band just two years ago and now they’ve come back and sold out prestigious venues in Manchester such as Deaf Institute and on Friday, Gorilla. The Yorkshire band released their first single back in 2015 and have since been travelling up and down the country busking and performing to gain the fan base they now have.
Opening with their most recent track, Systematic, set the night out to be a hit. The charismatic song got everyone in the venue moving while they sang back to the quartet. The band have an alternative pop sound which, along with their captivating stage presence, undeniably draws in an audience and there is no doubt next time they appear in Manchester they will fill a much larger venue. Their set included fan favourite, Antichrist, as well as one of my favourite songs by the band, Philosophical and newly released track Two Islands. The track is much calmer and allowed the buzzing fans to cool down before ending the show on a high with Alcatraz.
King No-One are a band who never fail to entertain, they have the perfect balance of style and talent to draw in any music fan. I’m hoping to hear much more coming from the energetic band in the future and am excited to hear any new music, especially after listening to what they’ve made over the past few years.
