As she prepares to kick off her debut UK tour this month, star of The Voice 2012, Bo Bruce took some time out of her busy schedule to answer a few burning questions!
What are you up to at this very moment?
What can fans expect to experience at one of your shows?
Raw and intimate. The way I feel at the moment I’m pretty sure it will be different every night.
What is your favourite song to perform live?
Ghost Town
When you’re not performing, what do you do to keep yourself busy when your’re on the road?
My band M.D Sam is also a magician. Lots of time spent twisting his arm to explain his tricks to me, and tell me the secrets so i can do them myself! Our van/my handbag is full of stray magic cards.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The Moody Blues when I was seven (?)
Which other artists are you listening too at the moment?
New Sigur Ros – Valtari. Stunning.
Which song do you wish you had written
Mr. Blue Sky by E.L.O
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Kate Bush. Or my friend’s Snow Patrol. I’d like to sing with Gary properly, at one of their shows, and turn around to see my friend Jonny on keys and Jonny Quinn drumming behind us. That would be magical.
Who is your favourite artist on The Voice this year?
I haven’t seen them all but i’ve heard Connor is pretty good.
Plans for the rest of the year?
Erm… to stay on tour!?
Tell us something about yourself that people might not know
I won the National Athletic Championships for 110m hurdles when I was a teenager and I really hate parsley.
