Q&A with… Lee Brady

Share:

Lee Brady is a 21-year-old singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist from a very small town in the fields of Northern Ireland. With a soulful voice that reflects the scars of his own traumatic experiences, Lee weaves together Irish, Folk, and Country influences into his music. Driven by the storytelling talents of Zach Bryan, the Folk-infused melodies of Mumford and Sons, and the gritty sincerity of Hozier, Lee Brady crafts songs that explore pain, resilience, and hope.

We spoke to Lee ahead of his performance at Abbie McCarthy’s Good Karma Club on October 29th. Tickets on sale now.

Hey Lee. Thanks for speaking with us! How has your 2024 been?

It’s been great! Been working on a lot of great music with a lot of great people and I’m so excited to share it all very soon.

Do you think your upbringing in Northern Ireland has inspired your sound

Yes, absolutely. The authentic storytelling in my songs comes from my experiences growing up in Northern Ireland. The use of traditional Irish instruments scattered throughout my songs gives it a fresh, yet nostalgic feeling for me.

What other artists inspire your music and songwriting?

Zach Bryan, Mumford & Sons, Benson Boone, and The Lumineers.

What is your favourite lyric of yours and why?

A brother’s love will heal no matter who’s on which side…” It’s from a song I wrote about my mother’s miscarriage called “Take My Place.” This song and lyric hits really close to home for me and I feel like it really speaks to how important family is.

You’ll be joining the lineup at Abbie McCarthy’s Good Karma Club on October 29th! How are you feeling about this performance – and what track are you most looking forward to play live?

“Heed The Call,” my new single coming out October 25th! This will be my first show in London so I’m really looking forward to it.

What else have you got planned for the rest of the year?

The plan is to continue writing songs after I release my debut single and hopefully traveling the world.

Thanks Lee! See you on the 29th!
