The Big Moon
The London four-piece formed in 2014, started off by Juliette Jackson (vocalist/guitarist) who wanted to start a band, taking to Facebook and asking friends of friends to audition. Soon after, the indie-rock/pop quartet The Big Moon was created, and have since gone on to achieve multiple single and album releases and festival appearances at Glastonbury, Truck Festival and more. Alongside various support slots for the likes of the Kaiser Chiefs, Bombay Bicycle Club and The Vaccines, The Big Moon will also be heading out on tour this September.

Sea Girls

That single, ‘Call Me Out’, now has over 17 million streams, coming in 2nd to their 2018 single, ‘All I Want To Hear You Say’, with over 28 million streams. Off the bat of their debut album released mid-pandemic, Sea Girls dropped their latest album ‘Homesick’ earlier this year, receiving raving reviews from the likes of Arlo Parks, Yungblud, NME and more.

Phoebe Green is the second and final artist performing at Manchester’s Emirates Old Trafford for the Manchester Originals vs Welsh Fire match, which took place last Tuesday.
Born and raised in the small seaside town of Lytham, the singer-songwriter is not afraid of expressing herself, sharing her tales through her fresh alternative indie-pop music is what makes her so relatable and current. Her second studio album, ‘Lucky Me’ has just released, the follow up to her debut album ’02:00AM’, back in 2016. Over the last four years, Phoebe has supported artists such as Alfie Templeman & Everything Everything, along with multiple festival appearances and shows of her own, and is now preparing for her upcoming headline tour. Deco
Starting off as synth-pop duo, now quintet Deco have gained a lot of attention through Tiktok and Youtube over the last year or so, with their various mash-ups and covers of songs, converting them into an 80s-style bop.
In December 2021, the band were featured on ITV’s ‘Walk The Line’, performing their own song ‘Rain’, which was released onto Spotify this May. But other than being national TV stars, Deco were releasing music and performing alongside this, with their cover of ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ landing at the 50 spot in the UK charts. As well as supporting massive artists such as Nile Rodgers & Chic and A-ha, Deco have been touring the UK, showcasing all their releases over the last 4 years.
We’re patiently waiting on an upcoming tour and a debut album, but until then catch a snippet of their song ‘Rain’ at Nottingham’s match last Wednesday here.
L’Objectif
Last Sunday, L’Objectif rocked The Hundred stage at the Northern Superchargers vs Manchester Originals match in Headingly, Leeds – watch here.
The indie rock band first formed at the age of 12, and with the later additions of bassist Ezra Glennon and guitarist Dan Richardson, they became L’Objectif. Balancing school life and band life, the boys signed to Chess Club records earlier last year, and have most recently just received their A levels results ahead of their appearance at The Hundred, so it’s safe to say their ‘double life’ is pretty non stop.
Alongside Phoebe Green, the band supported Everything Everything this April, and followed on to play The Great Escape, supported Geese, and have announced two headline shows for October, as well as Live at Leeds in the City and Neighbourhood Festival.
The Amazons
On Wednesday 24th August, it was alternative rock band The Amazons’ turn to take the stage at Lord’s in London, alongside the London Spirit vs Welsh Fire match.
Forming in 2014, the four-piece from Reading aim to take a fresh spin on the stereotypical rock genre, mixing elements of indie, and some pop, to create catchy guitar riffs and infectious melodies.
The band have had a pretty successful 2022, supporting Royal Blood on their European and recently releasing their latest single ‘How Will I Know?’ in July, all whilst preparing to go on their intimate record store tour in September. Shortly after this, The Amazons will head out on tour in October, starting off with the UK and flying across the pond for their first ever tour of North America.
Jordan Mackampa
Soul singer-songwriter Jordan Mackampa was born in Congo and moved to London before he was even two years old. In an interview with QUIP, Jordan states its his Congolese roots is what gave him the rhythm and melody, and moving to the UK is where he picked up his folk-guitar music style that we know and love today.
His most popular songs ‘Yours to Keep’ and ‘What Could Have Been’ have racked up over 58 million streams collectively, but since his EP release including those tracks, Jordan has released several singles, and his debut 11-track album, ‘Foreigner’. His music has taken him around the UK and Europe, and moving internationally to the US. Recently finishing off his tour this year, we’re already awaiting on another! But until then, catch a snippet of Jordan’s performance at The Hundred alongside the Birmingham Phoenix vs Manchester Originals match in Edgbaston here.
Dolores Forever
Dolores Forever is made up of two friends, Hannah from Leeds and Julia from Copenhagen, who met at a house party in London, and swiftly realised they had far too much music favourites in common, it would be stupid not to start a band.
Now in 2022, Dolores Forever are the hottest indie-pop duo on the block. The global pandemic may have disrupted the band showing their music to the world, but straight off the bat of shops and bars re-opening, Dolores Forever treated our ears to ‘Kilimanjaro’, their first ever single release. Since then, the band have released their first EP, ‘Baby Teeth’ in May of this year. Alongside all the music-making, the band have performed a handful of gigs, one of these being no other than Glastonbury Festival already.
They played The Hundred at Headlingly Wednesday 31st August, watch a snippet of their performance here.
Dolores Forever will also be playing Neighbourhood Festival this October.
Samm Henshaw
Growing up around gospel music in his home and at church, Samm Henshaw was constantly surrounded by music, allowing his creativity to flourish and his musicianship to grow. Following pursuing his degree in popular music at University of Southampton, the music industry promptly found the R&B/Soul singer and he was quickly scouted by Columbia Records, releasing his debut EP ‘The Sound Experiment’ in the same year.
Now, Samm Henshaw finds himself with multiple single releases, 2 EP’s, 1.6 million monthly Spotify listeners and most recently, his debut album ‘Untidy Soul’ released January of this year, which has gained outstanding reviews from NME, The Line of Best Fit and The Guardian to name a few.
As he continues on the rise, Samm took to the stage at The Hundred’s Eliminator game at Agnes Bowl, Southampton on Friday 2nd September.
Bastille
The Hundred’s headliner for 2022 is no other than pop-rock giants Bastille.
Originally a solo project of lead-singer and songwriter Dan Smith, the band formed in 2010 after meeting in London, and taking the name from Bastille day, they found themselves with a band – completely unaware of the success they would achieve over the next decade.
‘Pompeii’ still being one of their most streamed songs with over 1 billion listens, the bands dedication has remained at top level, with regular releases every year, their most recent single being ‘Revolution’ which came out this July.
Hot off the heels of a busy festival period, Bastille rocked alongside the final game of The Hundred 2022 on Saturday 3rd September at Lord’s in London.
