It’s almost Mother’s Day – the occasion dedicated to treating the mother-figures in our lives! Here at Gigs and Tours, we know it’s tough being a working parent, so we’re celebrating some of our favourite mums in the music industry, from P!nk to Fearne Cotton!

The alt-rock icon is a proud mum to three kids with her husband Mario Treadway, Onyx (4), Ever (10) and Winter (1).
Speaking about juggling motherhood with work in an interview with Biography , Alanis joked: “I have discovered the virtues of coffee, truly. Coffee has become very helpful in that I’m sleeping a lot less.”
She added: “Previously, personal fulfilment was at home, and then I was on the road, living my vocation. Everything was really compartmentalized. Separate. There was this, and then there was that. Now everything is really integrated.
“I come into my room to do an interview, I go breastfeed, I talk to my husband, I go write a song. Everything’s blended together and, frankly, not a moment too soon. It’s always been a goal, this integration.”

Christina Aguilera
The multi-platinum selling pop-singer is the mum to two children, her son, Max, and daughter, Summer. Despite her hugely busy career, Christina Aguilera continues to prove she is an amazing, doting mother and has spoken some wise words about her motherhood journey over the years.
While chatting with People in 2015, the singer said it’s so important for parents to enjoy the little things, because they are truly precious. “It’s the little things that are so amazing as a mom and just make me so happy and proud to be the mother of two beautiful, amazing, incredibly talented, lovely children,” she said. “I’m so happy.”
“Now, I’m a mother of a 7-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter and it’s very important to me to provide them with an environment to feel safe and loved,” she told Today in 2015. “I want to give my children the gift of loving music without having to use it as an escape, like I had to.”

Jessie Ware
Jessie Ware has said she “never felt more like a super woman” than when she gave birth to her three children. “I’ve had two incredible births, which I really prepped for. I know it can go completely the other way and you never really know how that baby’s going to make an entrance. But I looked after myself during the pregnancies, because I felt like I was getting ready for this big marathon, that felt like the unknown!”
Jessie also revealed the advice she would give if she was writing a letter to prospective mothers.
She explained: “If I was going to write a letter to myself or a new mum, I think I would say, ‘Motherhood may not be everything you expect and not be everything you expect and not be everything you need and you mustn’t feel guilty about needing other things such as a career.’
“You’re going to find it harder than you thought and it’s not going to be a walk in the park but it’s also going to be the best thing you’ve ever done in your life.”

Katherine Jenkins
Not only has Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins been dubbed the “new forces sweetheart” thanks to her support for British soldiers, she’s also the mother of Aaliyah (6) and Xander (2). Despite always ensuring to leave their faces out of shot in attempt to keep the youngsters out of the spotlight while they’re still young, the cute snaps of the two sat side by side are heartwarming enough!
Fearne Cotton
The presenter, writer and podcast host is the devoted mother of Rex (9) and Honey (6), and also keeps their faces hidden online to protect their privacy. Still, she portrays her loving home life with pics of them and her husband Jesse Wood baking or on days out. Not only that, she was also previously an ambassador for Tesco’s Mum of The Year Award, saying “There are so many inspirational mums out there who do such wonderful things for others and don’t realise just how special they are!”
Lights
Lights, Canada’s favourite electropop artist, welcomed her only child Rocket in 2014 with her husband Beau Bokan of metalcore band blessthefall. When she’s not dressing up like a chicken, other pics have shown the six year old copying her mum with matching temporary tattoos and pink hair! She’s also followed in her mum’s footsteps in others ways as she joins her parents on tour. Speaking to Rock Sound about Lights’ new music and her career after Rocket’s arrival, Beau said “She was adamant in proving that she could do it still and showing that being a mum doesn’t slow you down. If anything it’s made her stronger and made her more determined.”
Beyoncé
Beyonce and Jay-Z have been doing a good job of keeping their youngest children, twins Rumi and Sir (4) completely out of the spotlight, definitely contrasting with their eldest Blue Ivy (10). However, at the end of the 2019, she shared a quick flash video of her year on Instagram, which included a rare family photo at 1:33. Bey first announced the twins’ birth in 2017 in an infamous photo shoot which became Insta’s most-liked photo of all time, now standing at over 10 million likes. Since then, they’ve rarely been seen, but close sources confirm they’re happy and healthy toddlers, even touring with their parents on their co-headlining On The Run II tour in 2018.
P!nk
The original queen of punk rock has definitely won our award for most outspoken mum! Mother to Willow (10) and Jameson (5), P!nk is known for speaking out on how she raises her kids to be kind to others and love themselves, despite being met with unnecessary criticism. Willow in particular was brought to the attention of the public during her mum’s MTV VMA Award acceptance speech in 2017. When receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, she told the story of how her then-6-year-old daughter, who was in the audience, came to her one day saying she felt “ugly” and looked like “a boy with long hair”. To show Willow how beautiful she was, she made a PowerPoint presentation of androgynous stars from Bowie and Prince to Janis Joplin, and adding “‘Do you see me growing my hair?’ She said, ‘No, Mama.’ I said, ‘Do you see me changing my body?’ ‘No, Mama.’ ‘Do you see me changing the way I present myself to the world?’ ‘No, Mama.’ ‘Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world?’ ‘Yes, Mama.’ ‘OK! So, baby girl. We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl.”
Carrie Underwood
Our favourite country songstress loves sharing her golden moments with sons Isaiah, and Jacob on Instagram! Jacob was labeled her “miracle” child after she and husband Mike suffered from issues with conceiving, with Mike saying “The last few years has has had its challenges and it makes this moment even more sweet! We didn’t know if Izzy would ever have another sibling but we learned through it all that God is in control and his timing is perfect!”
Victoria Beckham
Out of all the Spice Girls, Victoria has the eldest and most kids, ranging from Brooklyn (23) and Romeo (19) to Cruz (17) and Harper (10). They’re a very close family, and can always be seen sat on the front row at Posh’s runway shows in support of her clothing line. Speaking very highly of her family of five, she told the Standard “On Valentine’s night, they came over and Harper decorated my office with little love hearts and balloons and we had a Valentine’s dinner, which was really super-sweet. To have them here supporting me means everything.”
