NEIGHBOURHOOD WEEKENDER 2023 FIRST WAVE OF ARTISTS ANNOUNCED

Warrington’s top festival, Neighbourhood Weekender returns with a stellar line-up! Held on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May 2023 in Victoria Park, the weekend is set to be filled with extraordinary performances, delicious food and funfair activities.

The festival recently announced the first-wave of the lineup with headliners including Pulp, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, and The Wombats.

Alongside the headliners, these incredible artists will be performing…

 

Confidence Man

Australian electro-pop band, Confidence Man, formed in 2016 debuting with their first single ‘Bubblegum’ in 2017.

Confidence Man’s performances are described as a “portable party” with customised performances to make you dance and lose your cool. The band were widely hailed as the band of the weekend on the Park Stage at Glastonbury Festival this year. In April 2022, Confidence Man released their recent album Tilt which has received raging reviews, including ‘The feel-good hit album of 2022’ stated by MOJO. The band are seamlessly able to blend dance and house music with influences such as Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder and Dee-lite.

Confidence Man will be performing at Neighbourhood Weekender 2023 on Sunday 28th May.

 

Rachel Chinouriri

Tik-Tok famous singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri went viral with her song released in 2018 ‘So My Darling’. The song now has over 130 thousand Tik Tok videos posted with ‘So My Darling’ as the sound.

Rachel began sharing her music in 2017 through Soundcloud showcasing her song-writing abilities and showcasing her musical talent. Her influences include Lily Allen and Daughter. The London based singer released her second Ep Four° In Winter in 2021 after the success of her first EP Mama’s Boy in 2019. Chinouriri released an acoustic version of ‘So My Darling’ which now has almost 24 million Spotify streams.

The Mary Wallopers

The Mary Wallopers are an Irish folk music group. Originally a trio travelling and performing throughout Ireland, the band have now expanded to a seven piece. The Mary Wallopers built up their fanbase and kept them engaged during lockdown by performing on livestream. They first released their EP in 2019 named A Mouthful of The Mary Wallopers which included their incredibly popular single ‘Cod Liver Oil & The Orange Juice’. The song now has over 1 million Spotify streams. More recently they released their first album The Mary Wallopers in October 2022.

The Mary Wallopers are known for the incredibly lively atmosphere they create in their performances. Watch them at Neighbourhood Weekender on Saturday 27th May 2023.

 

Dolores Forever

Hannah Wilson and Julia Fabrin are the duo that make up Dolores Forever. After bonding over their love for Mitski, Sharon Van Etten, Stevie Nicks and the Spice Girls, the pair became close friends and eventually began the idea of Dolores Forever.

Their 2022 EP Baby Teeth gained a spread of online support from the likes of iD Magazine, Dummy and Mahogony. With a new release this month ‘Conversations With Strangers’, Dolores Forever are continuing to present their musicality and song-writing abilities providing deep, emotional music.

Having performed an incredible set at Neighbourhood Festival 2022, Dolores Forever are in high demand. Fortunately, they will be playing on Sunday 28th May 2023 at Neighbourhood Weekender.

 

The Royston Club

Welsh band, The Royston Club are an indie four-piece that formed in secondary school. After being together as a group only a few weeks, they released their first single ‘Shawshank’ in 2019. The band went to Parr Street Studios Liverpool to record their debut EP This State I’m In.

The four-piece have had a busy 2022, they played some incredible festivals including Neighbourhood Festival, have travelled to perform in North America for SXSW,  they toured the UK for their headline performances playing in some incredible venues and also supported The Snuts on their tour. It’s no secret that The Royston Club are an indie favourite and are only going up from here.

CMAT

CMAT is a country-pop singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. She began her solo career by self-releasing her music online which received considerable attention and radio plays on RTE Radio One and BBC Radio 6. In 2022, she released her album If My Wife Knew I’d Be Dead which immediately reached #1 in the Irish album charts. CMAT has described her musical style as a mashup between Dolly Parton, Weird Al Yankovic and Katy Perry. Her songs are cleverly crafted but mostly feature a great sense of humour.

Known for her incredible stage presence and unique performances, CMAT is one not to miss at Neighbourhood Weekender. She will be performing on Sunday 28th May 2023.
