For Fans Of: Anne-Marie, Jess Glynne, Emeli Sandé

Jada, AKA Emilie Mølsted, is the latest hot export to come from Denmark. Armed with diverse soul pop magic, it’s a name you won’t want to forget any time soon.

Having previously worked as half of the songwriting duo E.M.A., the 27-year-old has now gone on a solo venture which is clearly paying off. In a short time, she’s grown to be the most promising name in the Danish music scene and has captivated both Danish and foreign reviewers, media and fans with her personal and honest universe; one which breaks the classic templates of borders, genres and trends.

Jada has been on a long journey where courage, trust and honesty have been among the crucial elements for the whole process. She made waves with her critically acclaimed debut singles ‘Sure’ and ‘Keep Cool’; the latter even premiering on Complex. She’s been praised for the confidence radiating in her R&B-soaked vocals, which perfectly match the ice-cold pop beats they’re laced round. Her talents have also been recognised by even higher in the industry ranks. In January 2019 Jada started her award winning streak with the P3 Talent Award at Denmark’s P3 Gold (equivalent of BBC Sound Of) and has since won nothing less than 7 of the most prominent awards in Denmark including a GRAMMY at Danish Music Awards.

Her debut album I Cry A Lot arrived in June last year, following this award hype. The release is a personal affair as it delves into her personal experiences of love, doubt, insecurity, happiness, loneliness and support. The soundscapes travel from twinkly pop to synth-soaked soul, conveying she’s such a captivating and passionate artist no matter what genre she’s dipping into.

Jada will come to London in May, stopping off at Colours Hoxton to bless you with rich sounds that will take you to a whole new ether.
