Discover… Pop: This September

Share:

Every month we’re highlighting the best up and coming artists in different genres. September’s gig guide is offering a great selection of pop artists that we couldn’t help but share…

Alice Chater

Pocket rocket pop newcomer Alice Chater is aiming high. We’re talking Madonna, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga levels of triple-threat superstardom, all on-point choreography, high-concept videos and attitude-laden vocals that aren’t afraid to belt. Bored of a modern pop landscape that’s rigid and way too-cool-for-school, Alice is here to shake things up.

Madeon

Hugo Leclercq, the musician known as Madeon, first appeared to many as something like a teenaged fireball. In 2011, his frantic yet perfectly sculptural “Pop Culture” famously sampled 39 hits, live, from Daft Punk to Solange, instantly propelling the then-17-year-old to the international stage. By the time of his debut album, Adventure, in 2015, Madeon was a globally beloved artist with production credits for Lady Gaga and Coldplay.

Skinny Living

Skinny Living’s story is one of struggle, troubling situations and relentless hard graft. It’s also one of synchronicity, chance meetings, and unflinching belief that their glorious acoustic soul – with its echoes of Bill Withers and Paolo Nutini – will out.

Will Joseph Cook

Will Joseph Cook is one of the UK’s brightest young talents. Now 21 years old, Cook has been developing his multi-dimensional approach to crafting infectious songs since he was just 14.  This marks the first new music following the success of his debut album Sweet Dreamer and follow up EP If You Want To Make Money.  Switched on, earnest and self aware ‘Hey Brother’ sees him continue to tread his own path toward the alt-pop star he is destined to be.

Zuzu

Like so many gifted musical minds, adolescent isolation and a degree of loneliness are to thank for the guitar-wielding subterranean alien queen, otherwise known as Zuzu. Her boundary-pushing mentality feeds into the psyche of Liverpool which has long been imbued with a spirit of fierce independence, unwavering loyalty and creative genius.
