On 20th September, Lily Moore‘s curated regular live music night will be returning this time to the 100 Club with a brilliant line up: Millie Turner, Sam Johnson and a special guest! In the past the residency, appropriately called ‘More Moore at Mau Mau,’ has featured slots from the likes of Tom Grennan, Will Heard and Mathilda Homer.
Last year she completed her first sold out headline tour of the UK, that included her biggest show to date at London’s Omeara, and shared stages with the likes of George Ezra, James Bay, Honne and Freya Ridings as a support act.
The Brighton based singer/songwriter is a woman of many talents in her new video for the recent single ‘Why Don’t You look at Me’, out now on Virgin EMI/Closer Records.
Lily says “’Why Don’t You Look At Me’ is about a relationship that starts to lose its spark. The honeymoon days, where you can’t stop thinking about each other, going on crazy dates and showing them off to everyone, are long over. You’re now eating beans on toast on the sofa and barely looking or talking to each other. It’s a realisation that maybe he’s just not that into you anymore.”
The 20-year-old grew up listening to the soul masters like Etta James, Lauryn Hill and Sam Cooke and developed her own stripped-back style with a unique neo-soul sound.
The brand new single and tour follow the release of her critically acclaimed EP, ‘I Will Never Be’, which was out through Virgin EMI/Closer Recordings in 2018. Her previous releases have already won fans at radio such as Annie Mac, Phil Taggart, Scott Mills, Clara Amfo and Greg James on Radio1.
