Introducing… Olivia Nelson

Share:

22-year old London based singer Olivia Nelson is about to make herself known to you. She is in the process of emerging from the underground scene into the spotlight and is determined to make an impact with music and lyrics she has written. Describing her sound as ‘smooth, contemporary and urban’, Olivia has been writing songs for years, taking inspiration from the great female R&B singers and she uses that soulful power to project her voice and emotions.

Her single ‘Smother Me’, was released in February this year and the reception she received was incredible. It set the wheels in motion for her career.

Shortly after the release, Olivia had her first headline show at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters and people packed out the venue. Being ever-so real in an appreciative Facebook post, Olivia highlighted the struggle to get to that point. Remembering how, just a few years ago, she would sing to almost empty bars and felt like her singing was interrupting people.

Fast forward to 2018 and Olivia’s hard work is paying off to make her dream come true. She has been featured on Shay Sade’s (GUAP Magazine) ‘Ones To Watch’ list, being described as a ‘Rising R&B soulstress’. ‘Smother Me’ became single of the week in March on Amazing Radio and she appeared on BBC Radio 1Xtra for an interview on Jamz Supernova’s ‘Late Night Discovery’.

Not wanting to slow down any time soon, on the 31st August Olivia Nelson released her debut E.P ‘For You’, through all major streaming platforms. The album really makes her vocals the entire focal point;  the way she sings sounds so effortless, with perfectly pitched lyrics just flowing out of her. Olivia’s songs sound so polished and professional that you could put any song from ‘For You’ into the current music charts and it would be like they belonged there.

Olivia currently has over 350,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and 2017’s collaboration with Jarreau Vandal, ‘Someone That You Love’, has racked up a staggering 9 million streams and counting.

Olivia is excited to be doing her second headline show in London’s Camden Assembly on the 12th November, with tickets already in high demand and available to purchase now: http://gigst.rs/ON
