Introducing… Iyamah

Share:

Brighton born Sophie Bond- stage name Iyamah- found her love of music whilst listening to Reggae and World Music as a child. She began playing piano and started song writing when she was 13 years old, but it wasn’t until she began singing and took lessons at school, that she found her spark for performing.
Empowered and inspired by vocal female legends such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and Lauryn Hill, she began to find her voice and place in the soul/R&B/hip-hop genre.

Iyamah is now situated in London, where she has put her name out in the industry, working with Maverick Sabre, Charlie Perry and Mullally.
She featured on My Nu Lengs’ festival anthem ‘Senses’ in 2017, which she then performed live at Glastonbury.
Her first single, ‘Cryptic Love’, was Somewhere Soul’s Track of the Week and premiered on DUMMY magazine, where they called it ‘nothing short of a remarkable entrance’. It has gained over 600,000 plays on Spotify since its release.

Her latest single, ‘Silver Over Gold’, which was written with Mullally, has received an incredible amount of acclaim.
Following the success of her current releases, Iyamah has performed at Boomtown Festival, supported Masego at his Manchester, London, Paris and Amsterdam shows of his European Tour, and will be now be having her own headline show on 2nd October at The Waiting Room in London.

Iyamah will be performing her songs with a full live band, giving her soulful songs a complete body. With her cool, neo-soul vocals, she can capture the audience and have them in the palm of her hand all night.
