Introducing… The Breeders

Share:

The Breeders began in 1989 as Pixies bassist Kim Deal’s side project with Throwing Muses’ guitarist Tanya Donelly which then grew into a 29-year-long commitment.

Over the course of this time, their line-up has often changed, and the band is currently made up of Kim Deal (vocals/guitar),Kelley Deal (guitar/vocals), Josephine Wiggs (bass/vocals) and Jim Macpherson (drums). The highly-acclaimed group had many achievements in their heyday such as their second album Last Splash going platinum, and even toured with Nirvana multiple times in the early 90s.

After going on hiatus in 1995, the band slowly eased back into the scene throughout the noughties and have since released three new albums. Their latest product All Nerve was released in March and still represents the nostalgia of 80s grunge and alt-rock but with a modern, polished spin.

To experience this hugely significant blast from the past for yourself, you can catch them at The O2 Ritz in Manchester on Friday 13th July.
