Joel Baker
Originally from Nottingham, Joel Baker explains how the freedom he felt from first listening to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon was the catalyst that inspired him to create music, and how he’s “been chasing that feeling ever since”. Fast forward a few years; after learning guitar, and receiving a first-class politics degree, Joel moved to London where he worked in parliament before befriending two producers, Jo & TJ. He then spent all of his spare time in the studio and all of his savings on song writing books and vocal lessons, and after cultivating a unique style and creating a buzz he began touring with artists Ella Eyre, Saint Raymond and Ryan Keen. Joel was then signed to Virgin and released his Mix Tape Bag of Dreams, a project he describes as “Somewhere in between J.Cole and Joni Mitchell, you’ll find seven songs which bear the bruises of my soul” .
