Jimmy’s provided a perfect landscape for the sound of Willie J Healey on Wednesday night. By cocooning music heads with its enclosed walls and neon lights, Willie’s unique sound was elevated to a funky, euphoric Rock experience.
After having a break through album, People and Their Dogs, big things were expected from the 22 year old. The set was a primed journey for the crowd, having a calm build to entice, peaking with a welcomed drum solo and concluding with an intimate solo outing.
He became one with the crowd mid way through his set when discussing his previous experiences at Jimmys, which engaged the crowd, creating a pleasurable atmosphere, eager to hear the rest of his hour slot.
Due to dedicating his life to music, he is already working on his second album and if he delivers such a fun, glueing experience as he did last night, you would be a fool to miss out.
