Introducing… Amy Shark

Hailing from the Gold Coast of Australia, Amy Shark comes armed with powerful vocals and hard-hitting lyrics that resonate with listeners, and she’s proven she’s here to stay.

She had been casually working on music for years but made her initial breakthrough into the mainstream when she entered her song ‘Golden Fleece’ in The Queensland Music Awards in 2016 and won the title Pop Song of the Year. She was unsigned when the following single ‘Adore’ made its radio debut on Australia’s Triple J in 2016 but within hours offers were coming through in the masses. The track had immense success as it reached #2 in Triple J’s annual Hottest 100 list as voted for by the public, bagged her Artist of the Year and Song of the Year at the Gold Coast Music Awards and is now 3x Platinum certified.

Her debut EP Night Thinker followed in April 2017, exploding into the top 10 on iTunes in 15 countries and reaching #2 in the ARIA charts. It also won her the title of Breakthrough Artist and Best Pop Release at that year’s ARIA Awards, adding more trophies to her cabinet.

She released her highly anticipated debut album Love Monster in July this year; a beautifully crafted and deeply personal body of work where her strengths in songwriting and lyricism shine brighter than ever. The album was produced by Dann Hume, who has previously worked with the likes of fellow Aussie indie pop artists Troye Sivan and The Temper Trap, creating an album on par with those household names. She also collaborated with some huge industry names, including Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 on ‘Psycho’, Grammy Award-winning songwriter Joel Little (Lorde, Khalid, Broods) for ‘Never Coming Back’ and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff on ‘All Loved Up’. The recording process was documented through a short series on YouTube called The Love Monster StoryLove Monster was met with instant success as it debuted at #1 on the ARIA album charts and #2 on Billboard’s Heatseekers album charts.

The singer is no stranger to the stage either as she’s toured the US five times in the last two years, as well as having extensively covered Australia and Europe. She’s also performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, capturing the hearts of audiences worldwide.

Amy Shark will tour the UK early next year with tickets on sale here…
