Introducing… Mansionair

Sydney’s alternative trio Mansionair have been made a real name for themselves back home and are now spreading their wings even further as they break the UK and and US. With each member having varied musical backgrounds, as bassist Lachlan Bostock is a producer while drummer Alex Nicholls played jazz and vocalist Jack Froggatt was a folk singer, elements of each can be heard in Mansionair’s music.

Their sound has been described as “sultry groove-pop” as psychedelic synths and pop beats drive their smooth melodies, which has caused for mass acclaim online and over 1.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify. They released their debut EP Pick Me Up in 2015, that was then followed up by two remix EPs for singles ‘Easier’ and ‘Hold Me Down’.

In 2017, they collaborated with indietronica group ODESZA on their track ‘Line of Sight’, which also featured hip hop artist WYNNE. This propelled them even further into the mainstream as the track was nominated for ‘Best Dance Recording’ at the Grammy Awards. Since then, they have released new single ‘Violet City’, which Baeble Music calls “their tightest, most commercial-ready song yet; it has everything you could want in a good pop song.”

Forming only in 2014, they have already supported many of the biggest names in indie pop such as Florence and the Machine, Chvrches, Alt-J, and London Grammar. Don’t miss out on their upcoming show at Manchester’s Soup Kitchen which has just been announced.
