MØ, aka Karen Marie Ørsted, is Denmark’s biggest breakthrough artist of recent times. She is currently putting the finishing touches to her eagerly anticipated second album, due for release later this year. In the three years since, she has played sold out tours and won over festival crowds worldwide. MØ will be performing her biggest UK & Ireland tour to date in October, including a show at the 5,000 capacity O2 Academy Brixton in London.
The tour announce comes shortly after MØ dropped her new single Nights With You to global acclaim. Premiered by MistaJam on BBC Radio 1, the song hit more than five million streams in less than a week across Spotify and YouTube, and was praised by outlets as diverse as The Observer for its “bulldozing, head-knocking beat,” to Idolator, who said it has “the kind of monster chorus that gnaws into your brain and refuses to leave”.
Nights With You is the follow up to her global hit Final Song, Drum, and Don’t Leave, her collaboration with Snakehips. It sees MØ reuniting with Cashmere Cat and SOPHIE – with whom she collaborated on 9 (After Coachella) last month – as well as Benny Blanco and Ryan Tedder. It is the latest in a run of impressive collaborations: MØ is the co-writer and voice of the worldwide smash Major Lazer tracks Cold Water and Lean On – two of the most-streamed songs ever; and recently teamed up with Charli XCX for the acclaimed Pull Up.
